Trending Position
Suffers on its own because of the terrible acting, subpar CGI and unimpressive setting. Worse though comes when you compare it to the first film, because it completely lacks everything that made the original _Starship Troopers_ enjoyable. It does introduce some interesting things to the mythology ... , it's a shame that it had to come in such a dour package though. _Final rating:★★ - Had some things that appeal to me, but a poor finished product._
You see I love tropes, they are what makes genres what they are... and Starship Troopers 2 is full of tropes... ... the problem is that they don't add anything to the genre. It's not the low budget, the setting is exactly what you would expect from a low budget Sci-Fi flick. It's not the actin ... g, they actually do a good job. It's not even the Fx. The problem is that it doesn't add anything to the genre. We have seen this before over and over again. We have seen it done better. We have seen it with a better plot that says more . This, well, this is just the same old film rehashed. The X-Files did it better with Ice.
