| Many years after the war has been lost, and all the dragons slain, a lone knight travels the lands of Agonos seeking to raise an army against the demon lord Abaddon. When a healer's vision reveals that one dragon still lives, and together with an eager young squire, the knight sets off in search of the fabled creature. As the armies of Abaddon descend on the human kingdoms, the dragon is their last hope of fending off the horde, before it lays waste to the lands of men. But does the creature even exist? And if it does, will it fight for them once more? | |

It's a Good Movie ...
I think the kingdom ought to have been called "Agonise" rather than "Agonos" for agony is pretty much the sentiment you have after one hundred minutes of this fantasy bobbins. The realm is under threat from invasion and it falls to "Braedyn" (Ryan Livingstone) to track down the last dragon and hope ... that it will agree to help him and his few courageous colleagues to thwart the demon lord "Abaddon" before everything is turned to ashes. This has two things that really work against it. It has obviously been made on a tiny budget and so the single camera combat photography and the very limited special effects do it no favours at all. Secondly, there is a distinct paucity of dragon! It does try to be a bit darker, their seemingly invincible masked opponents do emit a little menace, but it's far too wordy and the cast just don't make much of an impact with a rather well trammelled plot that joins the cinema dots all too predictably. Still, it's not the worst and director Lawrie Brewster is possibly guilty of trying too hard here rather than not trying hard enough - especially given the limited talent of his, well, talent! It's instantly forgettable television fodder, this - but if you like the genre (I do) then it's still just about worth a watch.
