Gerardo Vallejo was born on January 4, 1942 in Tucumán. In 1965 he graduated as a documentary film director from the Institute of Cinematography of the Universidad Nacional del Litoral, directed by Fernando Birri. Vallejo began to stand out when in 1968 he became the assistant to Fernando "Pino" Sol ... anas and Octavio Getino in the lengthy and long-forbidden documentary "La hora de los hornos". He died in Buenos Aires on February 7, 2007 at the age of 65, due to lung cancer. In his honor, the most important Film Festival in the Province of Tucumán was named after him.
