He led the combined filming group of Soyuzmultfilm, was a member of the research group for the development of a multifaceted cartoon machine (1951), and was a member of the artistic council. In 1957, he made his debut as a director, made hand-drawn films, and worked primarily with production designer M.Ya. Rudachenko.
