César Augusto Acevedo (Cali, Valle del Cauca, Colombia, 1987) is a screenwriter and film director from Cali, who won an award at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival for his film La tierra y la sombra. He also graduated with honors from the School of Social Communication at the Universidad del Valle with t ... he script for the same film. He has made two short films: Los Pasos del Agua and La Campana, the latter winner of the Colombian Film Development Fund. He was co-writer and assistant to Óscar Ruiz Navia on the film Los Hongos, winner of the Special Jury Prize at the Rotterdam International Film Festival. He has participated in the making of other films such as El vuelco del cangrejo and La sirga.
